SOLVIT is partnering with Câmara Municipal de Lisboa to improve the infrastructure network. The project includes consultancy, provision, installation, operation and maintenance of a LoRa communications network. We are installing LoRa gateways at strategic locations throughout Lisbon, with the aim of creating a LoRaWAN network coverage for the entire city.
This long-range, low-power, low-cost communications network will allow for the implementation of various smart city solutions. Sensors will be able to monitor data in real time, such as noise, air and water quality monitoring, intelligent irrigation management of green areas, weather data collection, street lighting control, parking occupancy on public roads, waste container level and temperature control, and resource location: counting people, bicycles or vehicles.
The project is part of a wider initiative to modernise the city’s infrastructure, resulting in a more sustainable and efficient city. By installing these gateways and creating a robust communications network, Lisbon is taking another step towards digital transformation and elevating the standard of living of its citizens.
